Restoran Asam Batu Laut @ Batu Laut, Selangor

Restoran Asam Batu Laut is located in Batu Laut Fishermen's Village which is just a few minutes away from Tanjung Sepat and Morib. There are so many people that flock here for good seafood that is sold at much cheaper rates than the restaurants in the Klang Valley and you should not be surprised if there was such a tremendous crowd when you visit them.

Fishing Village Just Beside The Restaurant

The fishermen from the fishing village dock their boats just beside this restaurant and it is a must visit place if you want to buy cheap seafood or even visit for the views. It is also from this place that this restaurant get's it's daily supplies.

Still Quiet As We Were Early

Indoor & Outdoor Seating Areas

Actual Distance From Where I Was Sitting

During the weekends and public holidays, please do not be surprised to see such a huge crowd here. I will estimate easily there were around 700 people at this restaurant the last time that we were here. Yes, and that number is not an exaggeration. Today however, we came quite early and there were less than 50 people. But as time went on, huge crowd started coming in bus loads. One can opt to sit inside or outside. Both places are well ventilated so you don't have to worry about feeling hot if you sit outdoors. Personally, I prefer sitting close to the sea as the views are really amazing.

This is a Pork Free restaurant and as such, you do find many Muslim customers here as well. Prices are very reasonable and you would be able to see shortly how vast a difference it is from restaurants Kuala Lumpur. Moreover, being a fishing village, supplies are very fresh.

Kam Heong Clams @ RM 15.00
Kam Heong Clams is one of my favourites and these guys did an amazing job with this dish. Just look at the amount of gravy which they had generously added. Goodness, it was so good and I was in love with this dish. My rating for this shall be a perfect 10/10.

Oyster Omelette @ RM 13.00
The Oyster Omelette was very different here. I was expecting the one that would come like the Penang style of preparation but this was more like Omelette with Oysters. A little disappointed as well but it did taste decent. Though I would rate this at 7/10, I would perhaps give this a skip the next time around.

Marmite Baby Octopus @ RM 14.00
After having fallen in love with this dish during my last visit, I had to order this again. The octopus had such a soft texture and the style of preparation was just perfect for this. Fresh, such huge portions and very cheap I would say. 10/10 is what I would rate this dish.

Ikan Merah Steamed Teochew Style @ RM 45.00
A rather huge Ikan Merah steamed the Teochew Style and this was priced at RM 45.00 . Extremely cheap and fresh and it tasted heavenly. Loved the sour broth that came with preserved vegetables. 10/10 is my rating for this.

Bill For The Day
If you're looking for some excellent seafood served fresh and at a discounted rate of 30% to 40% of what it would cost you in the Klang Valley, then Restoran Asam Batu Laut would be the perfect destination. Located merely an hour away from the city, this rustic town would not only be able to feed you delicious food but it's also a lovely destination for a day trip. Good food, wonderful views and it would surely be a memorable experience.
