Restoran Goreng Kuey Teow Tong Shin @ Puchong, Selangor

Goreng Kuey Teow Tong Shin is a place that is famous for their Char Kuey Teow and has been around for ages at their stall which is located along an alley in Bukit Bintang. Char Kuey Teow is a dish that is loved by most Malaysians and for those who are not able to head to Bukit Bintang to have this famous plate of CKT, you could now have this in Bandar Puteri Puchong as they have an outlet there which is much more comfortable.

The Restaurant Along Jalan Puteri 2/6

Newspaper Write Up's Adorn The Walls
This restaurant in Bandar Puteri Puchong is located along Jalan Puteri 2/6. They have been here for at least seven years and are quite famous among the residents. A nice air-conditioned restaurant which has both indoor and outdoor seating with huge number of blown up newspaper write ups adorning the walls.

Longan Winter Melon @ RM 3.00
Their menu consists of their signature dishes only. Good that they have stuck with those and not experimented with others. The most famous one here is their Char Kuey Teow and Popiah followed by their Fried Rice, Lam Mee, Har Mee and Pork Ball Noodles. Prices are not cheap but being a famous restaurant, I guess that that's inevitable. The original man that started the stall in Tong Shin is seen at this restaurant but he no longer does the cooking. He practically sits at the cashier and most often refuses to smile and engage with customers. I found it to be quite odd but then, that's how it is. The son, who looks just like him is the one that does the cooking and he seems to be more friendly. Order taking is done by the foreign workers and they seem to know all the dishes and the various options well, so that is definitely very helpful. With the orders being done, my drink which was a glass of iced Longan Winter Melon priced at RM 3.00 was sent over. The drink was quite disappointing as it was watered down, leaving just a mild trace of winter melon and no signs of longan. If I was to rate this, I would give it 6/10 only.

Popiah @ RM 2.50

Simple But Satisfying
Their Popiah was nothing to shout about. Not like those Popiah's that are really tasty. In order to enjoy this, you would have to cut down your expectations and then, it would seem nice. In terms of ingredients, there were nothing much either but as I said earlier, cut down your expectations and you would enjoy it. I would give this 7/10.

Fried Kuey Teow Special (Large) @ RM 15.00
Here, every add on item is priced separately and if you want to enjoy all the ingredients like shrimps, Lap Cheong, cockles etc, then go for their 'special' which has a combination of all those listed there. We ordered the large portion and it was good for two medium eaters. The Char Kuey Teow was unique, yes it was. It had a very different kind of taste to it which was pleasantly tasty. Not too spicy as well and the blend of ingredients were great. As for my rating, I would give this a 8/10.

I know that this stall is extremely famous in Bukit Bintang and it is great that they have another outlet in Bandar Puteri Puchong as well. Taste wise, their signature Char Kuey Teow was indeed unique and tasty. Their Popiah however could have been better but if you're expectations are low, then you would like it. Prices are definitely steep but I guess that comes along with their brand name. A good one to try if you're in the vicinity.
