Restoran Pizza Hut @ Tanjung Malim, Perak

It has been ages since we had Pizza from Pizza Hut. Having usually dined at those Italian specialty restaurants, we decided to drop by here for a change.

As it was a take away, we proceeded to the Ordering Station which was located at the entrance. Seemed a little quiet today as the entire Ground Floor was vacant but I did see some customers occupying tables on the First Floor.

They had loads of promotions for the month. We ordered two regular pizza's and a garlic bread for take away. It was just a 15 minute wait and the order was ready. Quite efficient I must say. One of the flavours ordered was something that we were used to and the other was a newly introduced flavour.

Hawaiian Supreme Stuffed Crust (Regular) @ RM 17.00

We took the two regulars for RM 28.00 plus RM 6.00 for the stuffed crust that comes with three types of cheese. The above Hawaiian Supreme was a usual pizza that we have and it was good as always. Having the stuffed crust definitely boosted the taste too. This pizza comes with chicken, chicken meatloaf and pineapples. Definitely a must try for pineapple lovers. I would rate this at 8.8/10 .

Spicy Tuna Stuffed Crust (Regular) @ RM 17.00

This was a new pizza that had been recently introduced. For us, this was nice but a tad too spicy. Perhaps those that love spicy pizza's would find this to be good. I would rate this at 8/10 .

Add On Garlic Bread @ RM 3.00 each

If you go for A'la Carte, then the Garlic Bread is priced at RM 3.50 each but since we had ordered pizza's, this comes as an add on for RM 3.00 each. The Garlic Bread from Pizza Hut has always been awesome and is definitely one of the good Garlic Breads around. The last time I tried this was around two years back and the taste is ever consistent. I would rate this at 9.4/10 .

The meal that we ordered was good for 4 pax and it is definitely a value meal. Nowadays even if you go to restaurants, a simple meal for four would easily cost RM 50.00 and in comparison, this is definitely a good deal. Should probably patronise these guys more often.

Kafe Love Earth Vegetarian Food @ Desa Aman Puri, Kuala Lumpur

It was late afternoon and most of the food establishments were already closed for their afternoon break. My brother and I were driving in circles in Desa Aman Puri to find a place to have lunch and this was the only place that was open at this hour. It's a Chinese Vegetarian restaurant. Well it's been sometime that we dined at a Chinese Vegetarian restaurant and we decided to give this place a try since the available options were limited.

The restaurant was very nicely designed. They provided Wifi for their customers and what I like most is that all their tables came with plug points for customers' convenience. Despite having an outdoor seating space, do note that it is a no smoking zone too.

The Menu

It seems that this restaurant stresses on healthy food. There is no MSG added in any of their food and even their fruit juices do not have sugar added into it. The food options are huge but the prices are steep. I do not know why Chinese vegetarian restaurants always charge a premium price making it more expensive to eat vegetarian food than non vegetarian food, just does not make sense to me. Anyway, the waitress stood by our side helping us with the orders and that made ordering a breeze.

Another Way To Word 'Cost Cutting'

Interesting to observe how they have worded their cost cutting activity. Anyway, it was a long wait for the food to arrive, not too sure why. We had to wait close to 30 minutes before the food started arriving.

Green Tea @ RM 2.00 per cup

For the small cup with a sachet of green tea and hot water, the price of RM 2.00 is definitely quite high. The Green Tea too was just the standard quality. I would only rate this at 5/10 .

Mixed Juice @ RM 8.90

My brother ordered the above juice which is a combination of Bitter Gourd, Cucumber, Capsicum, Celery and Apples and it meant to detoxify the body. It was thick but tasteless as no sugar was added. Not for those who are not used to these kind of drinks. I would rate this at 7/10 as I feel that the price once again is on the high side.

Seaweed Fried Dumpling @ RM 6.50

The Filling

The Seaweed Fried Dumpling came in a plate with five pieces and was priced at RM 6.50 . Taste wise, it was just so so. The seasoning of the fillings were disappointing. The dip sauce too was nothing great. Would have been better if served with just some Chili Sauce. I would rate this at 6.5/10 .

Stewed Yee Mee @ RM 7.90

In contrast to the earlier dishes, this was good. The noodles were soft and the flavours were just perfect. You do not get the feeling of having a vegetarian dish. Definitely highly recommended. I would rate this at 8.5/10 .

Vegetarian Curry Noodles @ RM 7.50

This dish was once again just so so. Though there were lots of items that were lavishly added to this dish, the mediocre flavour of the curry made this a flop. If only the curry would have been better, then this dish would have been fantastic. The curry was just too bland and tasteless. I would only rate this at 4/10 . Not recommended!

The Bill

Though this place has a great ambiance, the food were somewhat disappointing. There is loads of space for improvement and I hope that the management does look into this, else it is a waste if this restaurant loses it's customer base simply because of this. Definitely needs improvement!
