Wun Nam Homemade Recipe @ Damansara Perdana, Petaling Jaya

Restaurant Wun Nam was originally started in Tanjung Malim, Perak in the year 1975. My family and I have been dining at their restaurant for over 30 years now and it was just in early 2013, that the father sought retirement and the business had been relocated to Bandar Damansara Perdana by his five sons. The eldest son, had undergone extensive training overseas and is the chief chef at this restaurant. The other brothers assist with the business.

Interior of the Restaurant
The restaurant is just like any other Chinese restaurant and is very typical in design. To some extent, it looks very similar to the original restaurant that was there in Tanjung Malim. They start quite early in the morning and goes on till 10 pm every day. From 8 am to 11 am, it is Dim Sum time and from 11 am onwards, dishes are served. There were a number of newspaper articles on this restaurant that were found adorning the walls. Definitely seem like there are loads of very good reviews on this place.

Wine Offering
The menu has a very extensive offering. From simple dishes to very complex dishes, they definitely have it all. Do note that they do have a number of wine offerings here too. Right beside this restaurant, there is a Wine Shop that is owned by the same brothers and they are smart to incorporate the wine's into some of their sets.

Herbal Tea @ RM 1.50
The above Herbal Tea was above average only. I found it to be a tad too diluted. Would have been better if it was concentrated. I would rate it at only 6/10 .

Du Dan Noodles @ RM 14.00

Closer Look At The Ingredients
The above Du Dan Noodles was for 2 pax and it was priced at RM 14.00 .For the price, the portion was really huge and it was well prepared. Definitely not the best that I have tried but it was good. I would rate it at 8.8/10 .

Homemade Tofu @ RM 12.00

Closer Look At The Dish
The Homemade Tofu was very well prepared. The Tofu was soft and nice and the meat topping was very well flavoured. Definitely a highly recommended dish to try here. I would rate this dish at 9.3/10 .

Salted Fish Pork Patty @ RM 16.00

Crispy Pork Patty
The Salted Fish Pork Patty was excellent. Crispy Pork Patties coated with minced Salted Fish that were so savoury and delicious. This dish was cleared in less than 10 minutes and you do not even need the dip sauce as it is good to be eaten on it's own. I would rate this 9.8/10 .

Roasted Duck (Half Bird) @ RM 30.00

Wonderfully Roasted Meat
The Roasted Duck is a specialty dish here and I would highly recommend it. The meat was soft and tender and were filled with heavenly juices. The price too was very reasonable. Definitely a wonderfully prepared dish. I would rate this at 9.7/10 .

I was definitely happy with the meal here tonight. My honest opinion is that these boys are churning out some good dishes and it is definitely very much better from their dad's era. Keep up the excellent work guys and I would be sure to return sometime to try the Dim Sum too.
