Restoran Izwan Woon Abdullah @ Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya

I believe this restaurant needs no introduction as everyone knows them for their tasty Smoked Duck Nasi Lemak and one of the few that have Halal status. However many do not know that their outlet that used to be in SS3 had been closed and now relocated to Kota Damansara.

Restoran Izwan Woon Abdullah at Kota Damansara
The restaurant is now located in Seksyen 8, Kota Damansara. It is best accessed using the old Sungai Buloh Subang Road where RRI is. This restaurant is located on the same row as Hospital Pusrawi and Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara. You may not be able to sight this restaurant from the main road but the other two are clearly visible. Just drive along that inner road moving on to the next block and you would come to this restaurant. This road may seem quite deserted but drive confidently and you would see this restaurant shortly. The rear side of this block is usually busy and has a good take up rate however, this road fronting blocks are quite deserted. I guess he may have moved here because he got a good rental deal.

Inside the restaurant

When I arrived, there was just another table that was occupied. Business seems a little dull today. Could be because today is a weekend and this place is more of an office area. Another reason could also be that not many know that they have shifted here recently. Their staffing was also kept to the minimal. There were only three of them. A Malay boy, possibly the bosses son who was taking the orders, handling the food and cash. There was another lady who was at the drinks station and another one as the general worker.

Key Highlight Dishes Here

The Menu
Well their menu was not limited to the above only but they had a number of dishes, mostly around their Smoked Chicken and Smoked Duck. I came here mainly to try their Smoked Duck as I had heard a lot of good reviews about it. They also have quite a number of fusion drinks.

Sirap Bandung Soda @ RM 2.00
Their drinks comes in three sizes and this was the small one. As mentioned previously, they do have quite a number of fusion drinks and fruit juices. This drink was pretty nice and prepared well.

Smoked Duck Nasi Lemak @ RM 7.00

Smoked Duck Nasi Lemak @ RM 7.00
This dish, I have so much to say about it. It was served with smoked duck, sambal and half hard boiled egg. The rice was delicious and done well. The sambal was super spicy, just the way I love it and the sambal and rice alone would have made a great dish. The Smoked Duck was heavenly. I can still remember the taste as I write this blog. The meat was soft and excellently well done. For a Smoked Duck Nasi Lemak, I would rate this dish 10/10 . Excellent preparation!

On the whole, this is definitely a highly recommended place and I loved the food. The price of RM 9.00 for my meal was definitely cheap. If you want good Nasi Lemak, this place would be a good option compared to many of the decorative and branded kopitiams out there.
