Nasi Lemak Famous @ Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur

I met a friend earlier today and we were speaking about some good food joints in Kuala Lumpur and that is when, he mentioned of this place in Bangsar that serves great Nasi Lemak. Immediately I made a mental note and decided to head here for dinner tonight. The name of the stall is Nasi Lemak Famous and it is located in Bangsar Selera, the food court in Jalan Telawi 1 that is just above the multi story car park directly opposite Public Bank.

Having parked just below this place at the multi story car park which lies between Bangsar Village II and the Mosque, we walked up to this food court. Most of the outlets there were closed except for a few that did night business.

Once you are up there at the food court level, it is not difficult to miss this place as they are located right at the end closest to Puclic Bank and this is the most crowded stall. There was a huge que of people waiting to pick up their dishes and we joined in as well. We were attended to very quickly and the service was very fast. There were quite a number of tables there specifically to this restaurant and even though it was just a stall, they were pretty full I would say.

Great Variety of Side Dishes

Great Variety of Side Dishes
As you can see from the above photographs, they had quite a variety of side dishes and everything looked very good. Although I do not eat beef, the Beef Rendang also looked very good.We picked our side dishes and then head back to the table. The wife I believe, then came and sums up the bill. At the same time, she takes your orders for the drinks. and then the drinks are sent shortly thereafter.

Fried Chicken
The fried chicken that you see here is a must try item. It is a specialty here and you should not miss it.

My Choice of Dinner @ RM 6.50

Angie's Choice of Dinner @ RM 3.00
Let me tell you something, this is definitely great Nasi Lemak. The rice was fragrant and lovely. The sambal, super spicy. I did read many reviews that claimed the sambal here was sweet and not spicy. However to the contrary, it was very spicy to my taste buds. I believe they must have changed the recipe a little. Why I say this is because even when I was here, I observed the wife checking online blogs on this stall and their reviews. I believe she must have improvised the recipe and to recap, it was very spicy. The Fried Chicken, was lovely and you must never ever miss that. The price was also relatively cheap even though located in Bangsar.

The total meal for two including the drinks came to a mere RM 13.00 and I feel that that is a very reasonable price, specifically for Bangsar. I wonder how I have missed this place in the past and I would definitely vouch for this place anytime. Even if you yearn for a late night supper, this should be the place that comes to your mind as they open from 1700 - 0500 daily. Truly a great place for good Nasi Lemak.
